Had an amazing evening with pro-photographer Tim Swanky (www.swankyphotographic.com)!

The guy is unbelievably talented…so creative and we love him dearly for supporting MotorcyGalz so much!

This is our third shoot with Tim.  The first one is the main pic you see on the site…the second round was the beautiful shots of us riding Suzuki’s out in Lake Country and then last night we were shooting in the newly paved section by the WFN offices on the westside. 

Can’t wait to see the pro photos…but here are some of my amateur shots of the photo shoot…

Today was Kawasaki day! Valley Moto Sport hooked us up with three 2010 Kawasaki models, a super sport, a sport and an adventure. Stay tuned for reviews of the bikes and thank you to VMS for a great day of surprises!

MotorcyGalz earn most spirited team award

Thank you Kent, Sean and Kathy from Innovative Motorsports, for hooking me up with such a sweet helmet.

I LOVE IT!!!

What an amazing Sunday at the motorcross track.  It rained all Saturday night, to mother nature really helped keep the dirt down.  We met the team up at the Bear Creek Track at 10am and started to get to know each other.  There are 9 plus 1 on our team for the Sunday May 16th event.

Thank you to Robin, Jeanette, Cayley and the gang who do such great work to keep the track open on Sundays and Wednesday so families and friends can get outside for some exercise.  Now you might not think motorcross is exercise but if you say that…then after today I now know you’ve never ridden on a track.  I know I’m going to feel a lot of new muscles tomorrow when this kicks in.

And another huge thank you to Kathy Hubble from Innovative Sports who brought up so much gear!  And yet another huge thank you to Sean and Kent from Innovative Sports for providing some of that gear to the MotorcyGalz Team.

Kathy spent a great deal of time teaching Saje how to ride for the first time and Saje just loved her…and of course loved riding the little DRZ70.  Our 7 year old is now hooked and asking when she can have her next lesson!

So the team that’s going to be riding in the MX-Ride for the Cure Sunday May 16th at the Bear Creek track includes Marissa Baecker, Kathy Hubble, Tia Itterman, Kim Sylvester, Annis Ha, Marj Robertson, Katie Willcox, Cindy Rogers and me.

The 2010 Fleet of Victory Motorcycles rides through the Okanagan

Riders were treated to three days of riding when the Victory Demo truck rolled through Kelowna April 16. The weather was great, riders got an opportunity to try out the 2010 models and it was an event that won’t soon be forgotten. a review of the Kingpin coming shortly so check back under bikes and keep reading The Kelowna Daily Courier Wheels section.

Right after Jasmin captured a freestyle crash on video (check out videos tab), Arenacross racing resumed. This one was a little different. As I understood it, two racers at a time go as fast as they can and complete one lap. Winner advances, loser is out. Big cash prize at the end. Freestyle team member, Jeff Fehr races, gets nudged over by his opponent heading into the bend and has a serious crash and gets injured. While we are not certain of the extent of his injuries, we do know that he will be ok.

Marissa already had her license but I didn’t yet.

I was on location for Power 104 for Kelowna Yamaha’s demo days.

Lucky Marissa got to go out riding but I had to work.

The guys offered to take me out on the back of a bike…but you know me…the back of a bike is not my style…so I just opted to get my license and the next year in 2009 I wasn’t working the remote, so I got to go out and do some demo rides myself.

We’re expecting to get out and about on as many demo rides as we can over the next 6 months…so if you know of one in the Okanagan that we should be featuring…let us know who, what, when and where and we’ll do our best to get there.
